一、教學目標:
「英文繪本閱讀」課程顛覆「繪本只適合小孩閱讀」的迷思,利用適合成人閱讀的英文繪本,以線上課程講授及線上主題問題討論的方式,帶領成人學生進入英文繪本多元豐富、色彩繽紛的世界:文字和插圖的雙重媒介鍛鍊閱讀理解和視覺識讀能力,擴大了學生理解和享受文本的可能性;議題性繪本鍛鍊批判思考能力;多元文化繪本幫助認識他者觀點;療癒系的繪本更是心靈雞湯,暖癒漸漸失去童稚的心。 本課程的教學目標有下列面向: 1.在知識層面:讓學生獲得有關文學分析、視覺分析和批判分析理論方面知識。 2.在技巧層面:讓學生能夠運用文學分析 (文學識讀)、視覺分析(視覺識讀)和批判分析(批判識讀)等技巧來閱讀/觀看繪本。 3.在情意層面:讓學生發展對多元觀點的包容接受度、解放思考限制激發想像力、重拾童心與自我療癒。 "The "English Picture Book Reading" programme overturns the myth that picture books are only suitable for children by using adult-friendly English picture books. Issue-based picture books develop critical thinking skills; multicultural picture books help to understand other people's perspectives; and therapeutic picture books are healers for the soul, warming the heart that is gradually losing its childishness.
Thereupon, the teaching goal of this course is to cultivate a deep appreciation for English picture books, fostering literacy development, and a lifelong love for reading. The overarching goal will be measured in terms of the following objectives:
1. At the knowledge level: to enable students to acquire knowledge of literary analysis, visual analysis and critical analysis theory. 2. At the skills level: to enable students to read/view picture books using the skills of literary analysis (literary reading), visual analysis (visual reading) and critical analysis (critical reading). 3. At the affective level: to enable students to develop an acceptance of multiple perspectives, to free their thinking to stimulate their imagination, to regain their childlike spirit and to heal themselves.
