一、教學目標：
The purpose of the course is to introduce students to a number of topics they may not know so much about and show how progress can be made in many areas when people know the truth or the real story. Unfortunately, so often they do not get the real story because people with vested interests wish to keep them in the dark. The news is out there, however, and we now have that wonderful tool, the Internet (and, yes, cell phone technology) to find good sources and learn from them. The trick, however, is knowing which sources we can trust—and that is one of the purposes of this course.
