一、教學目標：
The purposes of this course are to enhance the learners' reading comprehension, in terms of their ability to analyse sentence structures, and understand meanings of words and rhetoric devices. This course will focus on works written by local and ethnic American writers. Works are studied in the context of the social, political and cultural forces that are compared and contrasted with the learners’ home contexts.
