一、教學目標：

Teach students to master the art of public speaking and learning how to prepare and be ready to debate various topics. Where necessary, help students overcome the fear of addressing large numbers of people and through proper preparation present good arguments in debating practice.

三、課程選修條件：

A good command of English such as that used in business.

四、授課（實施）方式：

小面授。小組討論Groups will work together in order to prepare for both debating and public speaking and instructor will move among groups to make sure students stay on track and part of each class will be used for putting the study into practice.

五、教學進度：

第一次	An outline of correct procedure to success and student self introductions.
第二次	Groups of students will discuss topics of debate and practice.
第三次	Students make first public speeches in class if ready after debate practice.
第四次	Students will change groups and try to debate with new people.
第五次	First large debate on a serious topic and hold follow-up analysis for mid-term.
第六次	Back to the drawing board and find errors in order to fix problems.
第七次	All students will attempt to deliver a prepared speech followed by evaluations.
第八次	Lively debates will be monitored and receive constructive criticism.
第九次	Final test for both speech making and short debate.

平時成績 20% 平時成績次數：1

課堂上實作演練：20％

期中成績 40%

口試：40％

期末成績 40%

All materials can be easily gleaned from Internet and used for study and practice until students learn to prepare their own speeches and debating topics.
