一、教學目標:
Course Description

"English Nursery Rhymes" is an engaging course designed for adult EFL students, particularly those at the lower-intermediate level. This course delves into the rich tapestry of English nursery rhymes, offering students a unique blend of linguistic practice and cultural immersion. Through an exploration of various nursery rhymes, from the well-loved to the less familiar, participants will enhance their English skills while gaining insights into the historical, social, and cultural contexts that have shaped these timeless verses. Each week, the course will cover different rhymes, unpacking their meanings, origins, and the societal values they reflect. By integrating language learning with cultural studies, students will not only improve their English proficiency but also develop a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage embedded in these simple yet profound rhymes.

Course Objectives

 By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

 Understand the Historical Context: Gain knowledge about the origins and historical significance of various English nursery rhymes, recognizing how they reflect the social and cultural conditions of their times.

 Improve Language Skills: Enhance vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension skills through the study and recitation of nursery rhymes, tailored to cater to lower-intermediate EFL learners.

 Analyze Cultural Significance: Develop the ability to analyze and discuss the cultural, social, and moral values embedded in nursery rhymes, fostering a deeper understanding of English-speaking societies.

 Engage with Literature: Encourage an appreciation for the rhythmic and mnemonic power of nursery rhymes as an early form of English literature and oral tradition.

 Critical Thinking and Interpretation: Cultivate critical thinking skills by interpreting the underlying meanings and themes of nursery rhymes, beyond their apparent simplicity.
